WE TALK ABOUT CYBERSECURITY IN THE INTEGRAL WATER CYCLE

On the 3rd of March, the webinar “Cybersecurity in the Integrated Water Cycle” was held virtually, organised by CWP. The event was aimed at a wide range of entities interested in learning about the regulations, implementation status and general trends in the application of cybersecurity in the water sector.

Joan Figueras, Regional Coordinator of the Industrial Cybersecurity Centre, gave an overview of the standards and regulatory framework for cybersecurity in the water sector. María Torrecilla, Head of Post-sales and Product Manager of LACROIX-SOFREL presented cybersecurity in the remote management of the integral water cycle. Javier Montoya, Director of Security, Continuity and Risks of Aigües de Barcelona  explained the day-to-day life of a cybersecurity operator and its management strategies. Finally, Juan Caubet, Director of the IT&OT Security Unit at the Eurecat technology centre, presented his experience in the application of AI to detect threats and incidents in water infrastructures.

The webinar was attended by around seventy people who were able to interact and generate debate with the speakers. The topics covered were the status of current regulations on cybersecurity applied to water, the implementation of the same to the elements of telematic management, as well as in the day-to-day integrated management of the water cycle, and finally the implementation of protection systems against threats.
