Presentation of results from the SMARTH2OTEL 2.0 project

On April 16th, the final seminar for the presentation of results from the SMARTH2OTEL 2.0 project took place.

During the event, the background and collaboration with the tourism sector since 2013 were discussed, as the general objective of the project has been to study and develop digital and innovative solutions for the efficient and sustainable management of the water cycle in tourist establishments. The project aims to ensure water quality, particularly in aspects related to human health, such as legionella control. It also seeks to minimize the environmental impact of wastewater treatment by promoting reuse through advanced and innovative solutions, generate energy from the purification process and other renewable sources, and integrate digital solutions for the sustainable water management of advanced tourist establishments with a decision-making system.

In this second phase, experimental data have been consolidated with real data from the solutions studied in phase 1, allowing the integration of the main water and energy systems of a pilot tourist establishment into a Cloud platform through sensors and other control devices, advancing towards the development of a decision support system (DSS). We were able to secure direct collaboration with tourist establishments such as Camping Les Medes and Hotel Samba.

The online seminar, organized by the GAIA cluster, featured presentations from all the project partners: ULBIOS, AERIS, LEITAT, LENTE Ingenieros, NEXMACHINA, GAIA, and CWP.
