CWP Participates in the 2024 Edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress

From November 5th to 7th, the Smart City Expo World Congress 2024was held, where Jordi Cros, president of CWP, moderated the roundtable “Adaptation and Transition to Climate Change in Smart Cities and Regions.” This session, organized by CWP, included participation from David McDonough from Mission Support WSSC Water (USA), John Van Schoonhoven from Bluecon International BV (Netherlands), Jung Won Yang from K-Water (Republic of Korea), and Mario Ruiz Mateo from Aigües de Barcelona. The discussion addressed the challenges posed by climate change for water management in cities and regions dependent on this resource, as well as practices and strategies for smart cities in water management, using AI, IoT, and data analysis to manage and mitigate climate impacts such as droughts and floods.

During the event, CWP, along with partners BGEOSENSSAL i INLOC Robotics, met with several cities participating in the Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy project, interested in infrastructure solutions and hydraulic system digitalization.
