The 2024 Internationalization Commission of the CWP: participation in international fairs, activities in the Middle East and opening to new markets
Last January 25, the first internationalization committee of the CWP of 2024 was held, with a large participation of the organization’s associates.
The day began by talking about the international activities carried out during 2023, by the entity with the participation of partners: such as the participation in the fairs Weftec (Chicago), World Water-Tech (London), OzWater ( Sydney), Aquatech (Amsterdam) and also fairs with participation such as Expoquimia, Pollutec and Korea International Water Week. Continuing with the international activities carried out in 2023, highlighting the missions in Senegal, Tunisia and Morocco, within the framework of the Aewen project, which had the participation of the companies: Bluephage, Derypol, ITC, Keiken Engeeniering, Sigma, Ufbaf and Unex. Xavier Amores, director of the Catalan Water Partnership, also highlighted the visits of the Cleveland Water Alliance in the last two years. The institution, with which the CWP has an alliance, is a world-leading organization in facilitating a freshwater economy that collaborates with more than 300 industry-leading companies, research institutions and public services.
Next, the two activities confirmed for 2024 were presented: IFAT Munich with the participation of 5 associated entities; Bluephage, Eurecat, Keiken, Ufbaf and Waterologies, and also the Singapore International Water Week with two registered companies, Unex and Sigma (but still with places available), and finally the proposal to attend World Water-Tech with the discount you receive the CWP.
The CWP offered a series of proposed activities for this 2024, a mission to Colombia in the framework of the Acodal fair, since due to the waste and scarcity of water resources, technological solutions are sought to help improve the water cycle management processes. A proposal for activity in the Middle East, as a result of being one of the regions with the highest per capita consumption in the world (89.5 m3 per capita per year). Also participation in the WETEX Dubai Solar Show, which is a leading fair in the region, in the sustainability and clean energy sector. Participation in WEFTEC 2024, with the possibility of organizing a shared stand or with the presentation format of technological solutions from CWP partners. The assistance to the Korean Water Partnership and the Korea International Water Week or a reverse mission, following the strategic alliance of both entities, with the intention of motivating synergies and new opportunities for Catalan and Korean companies.
Finally, more than 40 water fairs from the five continents during 2024 and 2025 were made available to partners, as an opportunity for international growth in other markets, in addition to having the opportunity to establish new contacts, expand market knowledge, open the opportunity to new commercial and collaborative relationships.
