SUCCESS IN THE SECOND EDITION OF THE INNOVATION CLUBS AND MATCHMAKING OF THE GALATEA PROJECT

The second edition of the Innovation Clubs of the European project Galatea was organised from 13th to 16th of September. This edition included four collaborative workshops to help the more than 60 participating SMEs consolidate project ideas and find potential European partners, in order to form consortia and apply for the second call for funding, which opened on 29 September and will be open until 8 December. The Innovation Clubs also included the participation of the project’s clusters and 16 experts from 5 European countries. Cooperatively and using a Design Thinking methodology, they worked on the emergence of innovative ideas corresponding to the GALATEA domains (Smart Ship, Smart Port, Smart Shipyard and Maritime Surveillance) and the challenges identified.

Within the Innovation Clubs, a webinar presenting the GALATEA project was held on 27th September, which was attended by more than 40 companies, and then the participating SMEs had the opportunity to meet with potential partners, experts and end-users from the 5 territories covered by the project (France, Greece, Spain, Romania, Poland) in a virtual matchmaking day. The day was planned to support the participating companies to form consortia and to be able to apply for the second round of funding of the project, where they will have the opportunity to apply for funding through vouchers of up to 60,000 euros. More than 80 SMEs registered for this day of B2B meetings and more than 90 meetings were held in one day.

More information about the call for projects here. Deadline to apply for vouchers: 8th of December 2021
