Activities and projects to deal with the drought are multiplying in the first half of the year

In the course of 2024, the CWP has increased activity and projects that are reflected in several indicators, many of which are closely linked to dealing with the drought.

In this sense, the context of drought has contributed to the CWP increasing the number of conferences, especially participating as a speaker to report on solutions that can be offered by associated entities, success stories and also provide an analysis of the current context and antecedents for regarding the water emergency context. During the last 18 months, the CWP has participated in more than 130 sectoral and drought-related conferences, thus reaching a participation of more than 7,600 attendees and where, in addition, 107 partners have also been able to carry out presentations presenting their technologies and innovations , with the first semester of 2024 being the one that has involved the most activity. The presentations have been made in both the private and public sectors and many of them have been marked by collaboration between sectors. Consequently, this has led to the appearance and impact of the CWP in various media, either in the press or on television, highlighting channels such as TV3 and TVE as well as in the press the newspaper ARA, the Diari De Girona, El Periódico de Catalunya or specialized press with iAgua and Retema. It has also participated in studies such as the presentation of successful cases in water management carried out by the CWP and jointly with the General Directorate of Industry of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Conferences have also been held on the regulatory changes in sewerage, purification and water for human consumption, which have attracted the interest of the entire water sector.

The entity has been able to perceive a remarkable growth in the number of associated entities reaching the figure of 162 members to date thanks to the 31 new additions: Plasson, Intemic, Mejoras Eneegéticas, Comunicat Mina i Aigües de la Salut, Aitasa, IsardSAT, HidrojING, Solvoc, Aqua Resmat, BonArea, Costa Brava Foods, IQS, Caperva, Aigualenc, Xd Solutions, BCASA, Igualadina de Depuració i Recuperació, Airtificial, Kauai, STENCO, Liquats Vegetals, Aigües de Vilafranca, TRADEBE, Fasa, CELSA Group, Valhidra, Copersa, OUA-CIAE, Fugaqua, Aquater  Master Tecnic.

At present, the CWP coordinates or participates in 28 projects of different calls either autonomous, state or European where in the latter it is worth highlighting the recent approval of 6 European projects, one of which the AQUALOOPS4MED project of more than €3.6M coordinated by the CWP itself, with the participation of four partners and the management of coupons worth €850,000 intended for SMEs with innovative projects. The entity has an excellent record in calls of this type, taking into account a history of 17 approved proposals out of 40 that have been submitted over time since the CWP was founded. At the state and Catalan level, it has participated in about fifteen proposals to AEIs for digitization projects, ACCIO competitive reinforcement initiatives, operational groups, etc. in which more than 35 companies associated with the CWP have participated.

Finally, in terms of internationalization, it is worth highlighting the recent participation in two benchmark fairs in the water and environment sectors. On the one hand, IFAT Munich where it participated with the companies Bluephage, Keiken Engineering, WTRgies, UFBAF and Eurecat and on the other, at the SIWW (Singapore International Water Week) where it shared a stand with Unex and SigmaDaf, and where other partners participated as visitors.
