The Catalan Water Partnership leads four projects approved in the calls for strategic change and growth and FTN of ACCIÓ

In 2025, the Catalan Water Partnership participated in the calls for grants for strategic change and growth and the Nuclear Transition Fund (NTF) promoted by ACCIÓ. Both calls aim to strengthen the positioning of clusters to maximise their impact, and the FTN call in particular to encourage the participation of companies located in nuclear transition zones, in order to promote projects that contribute to the diversification of the economic fabric and the generation of new opportunities in these territories.

The final resolution of these calls has culminated in the approval of four projects coordinated by the cluster: two within the framework of the call for strategic change and growth and two within the FTN call. Together, the four projects have a total budget of more than €460,000 and more than €320,000 in grants.

The projects approved in the call for grants for strategic change and growth are AquaBalance and Hidrotur.

AquaBalance will promote a pioneering water compensation strategy in Catalonia through the analysis of international cases and the development of a digital tool that will allow companies to calculate their compensation potential and plan effective actions. Veolia, Circular Carbon, CT BETA (UVic-UCC) and Eurecat are participating.

Hidrotur will address the efficient and sustainable management of water in coastal tourist destinations with high seasonal pressure and episodes of water scarcity, through the development of an innovative methodology to quantify and analyze water consumption associated with the tourism sector. Aqualia, Eduxarxa, Leitat and the Kid’s Cluster are participating.

As for the projects in the call for Nuclear Transition Funds, these are CIARA and PRIORI. DAT, with the participation of companies located in nuclear transition zones.

CIARA will promote a more circular, efficient and intelligent management of wastewater in sectors such as wine, tannery and municipal water management, responding to the challenges of water scarcity and the increase in regulatory requirements. Adobinve, Aigües de Catalunya, Herència Altés and the INNOVI cluster are participating.

PRIORI. DAT is an initiative promoted by cooperatives in the Priorat that aims to transform the management of the sector through the strategic and shared use of data, especially linked to water. The project will develop a common interoperable platform to integrate, visualize and analyze data. The Falset Marçà Cooperative, the Cornudella Cooperative Winery and the Agricultural and Regional Credit Section of the Priorat SCCL participate.

These projects have been financed with the support of ACCIÓ, the agency for business competitiveness of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
