SurVue finalizes the success of the prospective activity and progress in the definition of the control line of wastewater in WWTPs
- Once finalized the study of the status of the art is work with the real WWTPs to define the control of formation of the discharges.
- SurVue exploits the potential of the combination of innovative tools such as computer vision and artificial intelligence to help managing entities optimize the water purification process.
The SurVue project aims to acquire new knowledge for the creation of a system for detecting and monitoring scum in decanters and biological reactors in WWTPs, through the combined use of computer vision and data analysis. mitjà d’intel·ligència artificial. This solution will allow you to anticipate and respond to training processes, optimizing the functioning of the plant.
To date, the project partners have carried out a study on the causes of formation and the control methods of wastewater in the WWTP. In parallel with the tasks of this theoretical study, they have defined the monitoring needs, algorithms and elements that are missing to validate the system for capturing and interpreting images, applied in real environments. For this second task, work has been done based on the extreme information of a representative sample of real WWTP plants, with different sizes, configurations and characteristics.
The tasks of the project proceeded with the objective of designing and implementing a control system for the formation of escumes, which functioned based on the interpretation of a set of variables both internal and external, being operational at the lowest possible cost and capacity. to act autonomously. As the final activity of the project, we will proceed to design a telematics platform that will continue to be able to interact remotely with the users and allow them to make decisions and obtain information at real time. Therefore, the SurVue project will allow WWTP management entities to optimize processes and minimize costs, facilitating better control of the formation of wastewater and facilitating the anticipation of this phenomenon. The SurVue project is led by the Catalan Water Partnership, participated by the General Water Company of Catalonia and the companies MF Tècnima and Inloc Robotics, and has received funding from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism through the call for Innovative Business Groups de l’any 2023.
