Webinar on industrial reuse: how to adapt to the new regulations
On 12 February, the Catalan Water Partnership participated in a webinar organised by the Fira de Barcelona, focused on the analysis and interpretation of the new Royal Decree on water reuse recently approved by the Spanish government. This regulation marks an important step in the regulation of the use of reclaimed water in industrial environments, establishing stricter requirements to guarantee quality and safety in reuse processes, as well as promoting more sustainable and efficient practices in the management of the resource.
The session brought together experts and technical managers from various sectors and administrations, creating a space for debate on the challenges and opportunities involved in adapting to this new legal framework. Representatives of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Renault Group, AITASA and various regional entities, such as Canal Isabel II, the Catalan Water Agency and the Bilbao Bizkaia Water Consortium, took part. The General Directorate of Water Protection of MITECO also participated, which explained the main objectives and scope of the decree, as well as the planned calendar for its implementation.
