CT BETA is part of the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC). Its mission is the technological development and the improvement of the competitiveness of rural societies.
Lines of work:
ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES AND CIRCULAR BIOECONOMICS: Includes technologies such as anaerobic digestion, composting, membrane technologies, etc. It also includes innovative processes such as cryoconcentration, bioassiccation or solid state fermentation.
APPLIED ECOLOGY AND GLOBAL CHANGE: promotes the study of ecosystems, assessing their response and resilience to different impacts.
SOIL AND NUTRIENTS MANAGEMENT: addresses the proper management of soils and fertilisation, promoting the rural circular economy.
COMPTABILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY OPTIMITIZATION: quantifies the environmental, economic and social dimensions of sustainability, developing tools and methodologies.
