Consorci Costa Brava

The Consorci d’Aigües Costa Brava Girona (CACBGi) is a public body created in 1971 on the initiative of the Girona Provincial Council, the Confederación Hidrográfica del Pirineo Oriental and twenty-seven coastal municipalities of Alt Empordà, Baix Empordà and La Selva to tackle tourism development and the lack of water infrastructures in the counties of Girona.

On 1st of January 2021, five more municipalities from the pre-coastal area of Girona were incorporated, the first expansion in its history. It currently manages, as part of the water cycle, sanitation, water regeneration and upstream supply to serve more than a million people in the summer.
