The IKAT project is a European project of the Euroclusters line that aims to contribute to the achievement of the updated tourism strategy proposed by the EC, following the conclusions reached by the Parliament and the Council before the pandemic for tourism European and the industrial ecosystem of the maritime and coastal sectors in the Mediterranean area.
The project is designed according to the level of regional vulnerability and the economic dependence of the SME tourism sector based on the RIS3 and offers different services to SMEs in the tourism ecosystem in the form of direct financing. The services it offers, included in the IKAT catalog are: innovation, acceleration, tutoring, training or internationalization services and they are provided by different companies also included in the same catalog, among which there are several from the CWP. This funding is distributed in two ways. The first call was opened in the spring of 2022 and 61 European SMEs obtained funding for the requested services. In total, an amount of €741,640.00 was delivered. From January 2024, a new call for aid for services to SMEs will be opened. The project also includes cluster training.
