The Catalan Water Partnership consolidates its international presence at WEFTEC 2025
This week the WEFTEC fair was held in Chicago, the most important annual meeting of the water sector in North America. The event, which took place from 27 September to 1 October, brought together more than 21,000 attendees and 900 exhibitors, consolidating itself as a key meeting point for sharing ideas, promoting innovation and generating new opportunities for collaboration. In addition to the exhibition area, WEFTEC offers an extensive programme of technical sessions, workshops, meetings and debates on the main global water challenges.
The Catalan Water Partnership (CWP), the cluster for the sustainable use of water in Catalonia, participated with a delegation of associated companies made up of BGEO, Derypol and Sigmadaf. On 29th September, as part of the Global Center – a space dedicated to sharing international solutions and experiences – the CWP and the participating companies took part in the session “Smart and Circular Water Management in Catalonia”. This presentation was an opportunity to publicise Catalan technologies and success stories, as well as to highlight the role of the cluster in the transformation of the sector.

Within the framework of the event, the Catalan Water Partnership has signed two strategic agreements that consolidate its international positioning and strengthen collaboration with the US market. Alliances have been established with The Water Council and the Cleveland Water Alliance, similar entities that share a vocation for innovation, internationalization and response to global water challenges. Through these agreements, the aim is to promote collaboration in technology transfer, generate new business opportunities, encourage the exchange of ideas, facilitate access to new markets and, ultimately, support the global expansion of sustainable technologies linked to water.

Finally, it is also worth mentioning the participation of the CWP in the Water Cluster Leaders Meeting, a networking meeting and round tables with other international clusters, held within the framework of the fair. This meeting is a strategic space to strengthen relations with key players on a global scale, exchange experiences and explore new alliances that contribute to boosting the internationalization and competitiveness of the water sector.
Once again this year, the presence of the CWP at WEFTEC reaffirms its role as a key player on the international scene, consolidating the positioning of the cluster and its associated companies in one of the main global showcases of the water sector.
