Carrying out a feasibility study for the development and use of a digital twin for the maintenance of water cycle management infrastructures. The project demonstrated that the use of digital twin technology represents an important added value when applied to infrastructure related to water management. This is because it means a clear increase in the efficiency of the infrastructure itself, extends its useful life and reduces costs associated with its maintenance and exploration. The application of digital twin technology to the water industry is yet to be exploited and can be a differentiating aspect for the future design and management of WWTPs. This project won the award for best Intercluster collaboration project at the 2019 National Cluster Congress. Led by the GAIA cluster and participated by CWP, ZINNAE, Innovar, DAM and Sastesa.
