The scientific communication workshop organized by the CWP and taught by the Newton Mandarin is carried out
- In the Training in scientific communication and water workshop, three activities were carried out, individual and group, in order to get to know the public better and focus the message we want to give when we communicate
On March 19, the scientific communication workshop was held, where La Mandarina de Newton, a company of more than 15 years, focused on science and technology. The main goals of science communication for non-experts were introduced, including: reporting on scientific discoveries, increasing public awareness and interest, influencing people’s attitudes and behaviours. It was also emphasized that communication is about connection between content and reality, connection inside and outside the academic world, connection between formats, connection with other people and institutions. If we want to have a good communication strategy, we must make sure that we connect our content well with reality.
In the Training in scientific communication and water workshop, three activities were carried out, the first of them, in individual format, each of the attendees and participants in the course had to describe what the audience they are addressing is like. The second and third activity was carried out with small groups, between 2 and 5 people, where they had to think about where the different personal, institutional and public interests interact.
Finally, different entities associated with the cluster presented success stories in scientific communication by Alicia Arroyo from the Institute of Environmental Diagnosis and Water Studies (IDAEA-CSIC), Marina Presas d’Eurecat and Albert Palou of the BETA Technological Center.
