The Catalan Water Partnership reaffirms its position as a benchmark cluster with the renewal of the Gold Label
In November 2025, the Catalan Water Partnership renewed its Gold Label certificate, a recognition granted by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA) to clusters that accredit a high level of professionalism, quality in management and organisational excellence. Currently, there are only 50 clusters in Europe, of which only 9 in Spain, including the Catalan Water Partnership.
The ESCA, an initiative promoted by the European Commission, aims to promote excellence in the management of European clusters, promote good practices and continuous improvement, as well as weave a collaborative network of reference clusters with international projection.
The Gold Label evaluation process is based on the analysis of 31 indicators that measure the degree of excellence in key areas such as governance, financing, strategy and cluster recognition. These indicators include variables related to the bank’s internal operations, milestones achieved and strategic objectives.
Obtaining this certificate allows clusters to strengthen their visibility and positioning at European level, as well as to access meeting and collaboration spaces with other clusters of excellence, facilitating the generation of synergies and joint projects.
This renewal of the Gold Label, which the cluster has maintained since 2020, reaffirms the Catalan Water Partnership’s commitment to excellence and consolidates its role as a leading entity in the promotion of high-impact projects and initiatives, with the aim of continuing to be a European benchmark in the water sector.
